Uptempo is looking for a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team!

This role will require you to be proficient in managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and implementing efficient processes. This role will be responsible for assisting the Global Controller through the transition to US-based GAAP accounting and uniting the Accounting department of multiple legal entities under one accounting system.

What you'll do: 

Financial Management: 

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards
• Create consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for multiple legal entities
• Assist with preparation of the annual audit, including report and footnote creation
• Sales Tax review/management
• Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
• Review the company information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Scale the Accounting team by implementing best practices in each area

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
• Implement controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching
• Promote professional development opportunities to support the growth of team members

Skills & experience we're excited about: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
• Proven experience in accounting roles, ideally spending time in a supervisory position
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Strong proficiency in Netsuite ERP system administration and configuration
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of driving results and developing high-performing teams
• Collaboration with Controller for team selection, hiring, training and performance evaluations/promotional recommendations
• Ability to act independently and prioritize appropriately while always being flexible and adaptable
• High level of organization with a keen attention to detail
• Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving.
• Successful track record of managing multiple, competing priorities while exceeding expectations.
• Previous experience with a remote-first culture
• Former experience at a SaaS company, including exposure to ASC606 Revenue Recognition rules
